Project Overview:
Kockums Jernverk is a classic Swedish brand specializing in high-quality cookware and carbon steel griddles, with a portfolio spanning an extensive range of products designed for both indoor and outdoor use. They wanted to showcase three of their signature carbon steel griddles across distinct lifestyle environments to demonstrate how perfectly they adapt to different types and sizes of BBQ grills.
In a collab between SweetSpot, Stereocolor and Fanny & Alexander, we developed a creative concept with the tagline "Find your griddle", placing the hero products in multiple scenarios, ranging from a terrace in the Swedish archipelago to a lakeside campground.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenge: Production Economics and Asset Volume
Executing this multi-scenario concept through a traditional live action shoot would require extensive location scouting, heavy staging logistics, and multi-day schedules. Funding a physical production footprint across separate coastal, forest, and urban environments was financially impossible within a standard marketing budget, making the required asset volume unfeasible to produce conventionally.

Solution: Streamlined Hybrid AI Production
By replacing physical sets with a hybrid AI pipeline, the team bypassed the immense overhead of traditional live action logistics. Transitioning entirely to a digital workflow allowed the team to produce 12 multi-format assets for a fraction of the cost of a single physical location shoot, turning a financially unfeasible brief into a highly viable commercial asset engine.

Challenge: Product Authenticity in AI Environments

It is well known that AI can have a challenge with consistency across multiple shots, often warping the textures, shapes, and proportions of real-world objects. For a heritage brand like Kockums, the griddles had to remain visually perfect, instantly identifiable, and entirely true to their physical design.

Solution: 3D CAD Integration
Utilizing a hybrid pipeline, Stereocolor anchored Kockums' official 3D CAD files directly into the workflow. By feeding 3D files for the hero products into the AI, the team maintained product realism and consistency, perfectly intergated into surrounding environments, lighting, and the food assets.

Challenge: Production Logistics and Art Direction
The campaign targeted three demographics in outdoor settings: a family of four dining on an archipelago terrace; an older couple camping by a lake; and a young group of friends having a BBQ in an urban courtyard. This required specific casting, food styling, location lighting, precise environmental aesthetics such as West Coast Sweden archipelago, and much more.

Solution: Digial Live Action Workflow
The production process closely mirrored the creative steps of a traditional live action shoot, executed entirely through AI. The team prompted detailed casting briefs to secure the exact talent look, fed reference photos into the AI for precise food styling of items, and tightly controlled the time of day and lighting environments digitally, completely removing the need for physical travel or location shoots.

Results & Impact

Production Efficiency: Moved from initial creative brief to 12 final multi-format master assets, tailored for 4:5 and 9:16 spaces, within a strict two-week window. This streamlined workflow ensured the entire project remained highly budget-friendly.

Campaign Performance: The paid social campaign achieved a 3.4x Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) within the first three weeks of launching on Meta channels. Additionally, the assets generated a 46% hook rate (3-second video views), significantly outperforming previous static asset benchmarks.

"We were impressed by how seamlessly the team captured the classic aesthetic of our products while placing them in such vivid, authentic environments. The speed of execution combined with the absolute visual accuracy of our griddles exceeded our expectations."

Rickard Andersson, CEO, Kockums Jernverk
