We have a strict “no a**holes” policy. It’s been doing excellent work for us.

I know this might sound strange, but this post is written by a human.

Hi, it’s me, Liz.

I’ve been working (AKA: flying by the seat of my sweatpants) with SweetSpot for a little over a year now, and here’s what I’ve figured out about commercial production and post-production: There is STILL fun and inspiring work out there. The kind that makes you remember why you got into this industry before it got all timelines, budgets, and “can we just?s.”

And that’s what we’re chasing at SweetSpot. We connect agencies and brands with directors, VFX studios, and creative teams who don’t just make beautiful work, they actually deliver and don’t make the process miserable.

Something I also care deeply about is who’s in the room when decisions get made. Not "diversity" as a slide in a deck or a number that makes everyone in the room feel like they’ve done their part. But actual people. Actual voices. BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, different lived experiences, different ways of seeing the world, different accents and points of reference. I want them ALL actively sitting at the table.

And being present isn’t enough. We need spaces where those voices are heard and trusted, where inclusion is real. Sometimes that means taking a chance on someone new, or saying no to an industry mainstay who just can’t seem to treat people right.

In my experience, that’s usually where the best work comes from.

So, tell me. What was the last project (either that you worked on or that you saw) that actually inspired you??
